As a true Leuven inhabitant (° 1962), Werner Terclavers grew up in a city district not so far from where TABLOO is now located. Although he moved to the Flemish countryside with his wife a few years ago, Werner is still weekly active in his hometown as coach of a painting course in the local service center Remy. He has already exhibited his work there several times and at the end of 2024 he also helped to complete the wall drawing of rest home dweller Leo Loedts (1941-2025), former comic artist/painter and customer/exhibitor of TABLOO.

Werner gives his own color, shape or style to each painting, depending on his state of mind at the time of creation and based on inspired emotion and inner energy. As a result, his creativity as a comic strip fanatic and his youthful personality are strongly reflected in his work.

Werner found his inspiration for painting mainly after illness. Painting is a healing process, discovering the ability and belief in yourself, unrest that has to go out, displaying vulnerability and thus releasing fears by creating. He has a very valuable philosophy of life from this: "If you think everything is going wrong, think again."
