At TABLOO you can find everything that you need to draw and to paint with all kinds of materials and different types of paint: gouache, acrylics, oil colours, water colours and Ecoline. There are also pencils, pastels, inks, paper, palettes, canvases and painting easels. Brands of good quality like Royal Talens (Van Gogh / Rembrandt / Amsterdam), Daler-Rowney (System 3 / Georgian) and Lukas-Nerchau GmbH inspire every artists’ life in each step of his artistic journey.

Workshops

TABLOO welcomes all drawing and painting lovers! Each course is organized in series of 6 lessons. There are also children's workshops during the school holidays. We work in small groups, so it’s necessary to sign up in advance. Are you interested? Then send an e-mail to info@tabloo.be or call the number 0032 (0)16/20 55 29. (only during the opening times of the shop)

BASIC painting

For all those who want to learn how to paint with oil colours. You will learn the basic principles of this ancient medium by first sketching and then painting a simple object/still life to perception, by paying attention to the creative and personal interpretation of the background.

Other topics such as portrait, landscape, animal,… are covered in a subsequent series. These workshops can also be continued by an advanced course in which we will paint more intensively according to different styles of several famous artists.

BASIC drawing

This basic drawing course is meant for who wants to learn how to draw, or if you just want to refresh or improve your drawing skills. We focus on basic techniques for drawing an object, still life, hands, face, body, animal,... according to observation. We mostly use a graphite pencil. (maximum 6 participants)

Children’s workshops

For kids who for once want to be a real artist. Like the great masters, they first make a design sketch based on the specific workshop theme. After a break with drink and snack they paint their design in colorful acrylic paint on a canvas or on an object. At the end of the session, they go home with their own work of art.

TABLOO not only offers materials to draw and paint, but you can also watch creative work of other artists there. Ramya & Soumya Ravindranath

“Two souls, one vision”

Ramya & Soumya Ravindranath are twin sisters from India weaving extremely meticulous pencil and painting art into a vivid tapestry of creativity. Ramya is since almost ten years living in Leuven and Soumya in Bengaluru.

Ramya has been a workshop student at TABLOO since 2017 and also had the opportunity to show her work at some locations in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Mariana Waso

For the turn of the year, TABLOO brings a bit of South Africa to Belgium with the artwork of Mariana Waso.

From an early age, Mariana found joy and solace in beauty – also in unexpected places – and felt the urge to create art. Painting became her means of giving meaning to life and bringing people together through shared appreciation of the wonders of nature.

Ria Vanden Eynde

Sep 2024 - Nov 2024

Ria Vanden Eynde from Heverlee already exhibited at TABLOO with her landscape series ‘VISTAS’. For the more recent group expo 'Eyeliz loves Bouts' (Dieric Bouts Festival 2023-24 in Leuven) she painted a still life in oil paint with a contemporary nod to the work of the Flemish Master.

With this she was not on her test piece, because in the latter days of the pandemic – a period that made us all ‘silent’ – Ria with her series ‘A Still Life’ (2022-2023) paid attention to the silent beauty and the emotional value of objects around us that we use every day, sometimes throw away or often overlook.
