But few painters are as good with acrylic paint as Leo Loedts, an artist born in 1942 (Etterbeek) from Heverlee who is having for the third time an exhibition at TABLOO. That is, in itself, a unique thing for which he is very grateful. He paints with so much precision that his works seem to be oil paintings. Leo has developed that fixed hand and his eye for color and detail since the beginning of his artistic career as a flamish comic artist and graphic designer, after having studied at the high school for fine arts Sint-Lucas in Brussels and later at the academy of Louvain. At his 78th birthyear Leo still paints as if he was really walking through forests and landscapes, looking straight in the eyes of wolves and truly swimming between the fish in the sea. And in doing so, he does not shy away from criticism of all those who inflict evil on the nature he loves so much.
