For the start of this academic year, TABLOO honours the artist Lieve Ophalvens from Heverlee during September-October 2016. After more then 20 years of painting experience, Lieve is still so creative and passionate at her 70th anniversary. Lieve exhibits her work since 1997 and she took courses at different workshops. She was teached by several academic painters.
Shape, passion and colour are the main components of her work. The human being is the most important element. Eyes and lips are sensually visualized in close-up to express the feelings of the personages. The result is a colourful mix of paintings which is a bold personification of different materials, techniques and styles such as abstract realism, pop art, cubism,…
